HEISK, a vibrant six-piece folk band, blends Scottish traditional roots with an energetic musical style. Driven by a desire for better female representation in the trad music scene, they crafted their debut self-titled album entirely with a diverse group of talented women, including musicians, engineers, PR, marketing, management, agency and more. The album showcases their festival party vibe and celebrates the incredible women in the creative industries. However, HEISK’s relentless pursuit of empowerment extends beyond their music. Through their new mentoring programme, they are creating opportunities, for underrepresented young women and gender minorities, across the recording, producing, mixing, instrumental performance, marketing, and live shows, all built around their new album ‘Headstrong’ due for release in late 2023.
