Ceòl an Aire are a 5 piece trad (traditional Scottish / folk) band from Oban on the West Coast of Scotland. Since forming in 2010, the band have been fortunate to perform on a wide array of stages taking on trips across the UK, Europe, USA and Asia. The captivating vocals of Clare Jordan are paired with the powerful melodies of Ruairidh Morrison (box) and Ruairidh Buxton (pipes, flutes, whistle) alongside Ewan Macdonald (guitar & bass) and Darren Brown (drums) who unite to create Ceòl an Aire’s distinctive sound. The band perform regularly at cèilidh dances, concerts, festivals and corporate events with an eclectic selection of their favourite songs and medleys. The band have released two EPs and a single which are available to stream on all major platforms and have gained listeners worldwide. The tracks include a number of lively original tune sets and the band’s arrangement of the popular Richard Thompson song, Beeswing. Writing about the band’s latest release, the Scottish Field magazine described the driving rhythms, Highland pipes and big rock-inspired drum and bass sounds as “undeniably catchy with an infectious, upbeat style” whilst folking.com simply described the band as a “mighty sound”.
