Dùn Mòr are Tiree’s latest ceilidh band and are already making waves on the West Coast Dance Band Scene.  Founded by Eastenders Eilidh ‘The Ceilidh’ MacFadyen and Jamie ‘Skipi’ MacDonald, the bands’ name comes from the ‘mountain’ separating their respective townships.  This frontline of accordion and fiddle is complimented by Mìcheal Steele, South Uist’s latest exponent, who encapsulates the famed piping traditions of his island. Supporting this melodic powerhouse is the concrete foundations of Benbecula’s Màiri Innes on driving acoustic guitar and Seòras Lewis keeping expert time on drums.  A Dùn Mòr cèilidh is fast becoming a staple of the Hebridean diet with a mix of traditional cèilidh dances and songs ranging from the crofters anthems of Lewis’ Calum Kennedy all the way to the Tennesse ballads of Johnny cash, stopping at every point inbetween.  Prepare yourself for a horo gheallaidh!
